"My daughter now appears to be happy and excited to attend school and I believe that is due to being seen for who she is and not a condition. "
Students join the school community at different ages and stages within their own learning journey. The flexible and adaptable curriculum enables us to facilitate learning for students aged
- 4 -16 Curriculum for students engaging in learning from the Engagement Model (formerly early P Levels) up to GCSEs.
- 16-19 Sixth Form Curriculum for students working below Level 1 to help support students’ readiness for further education.
Students’ learning is carefully sequenced from Reception Year through to post-16 to ensure that all students are encouraged and challenged to learn within the same ‘future-focused’ context and framework as peers outside of Treloar School.
A bespoke approach
When a student joins us, we prioritise getting to know their individual needs, so we can build the right package of learning and support, and involve the most appropriate staff in their care and education from the very start.
Through teams of tutors, therapists, assistive technologists, dieticians, nurses and a wide range of highly trained support staff, we are uniquely able to meet the physical and emotional needs of students. Our aim is to ensure students make excellent progress across all areas of the wider curriculum and towards their individual aspirations.
"Our son is living his best life at Treloar's with the support and care he's given. They have helped make him the lovely young man he is today."
Admissions
There are lots of ways you can apply to Treloar’s. Generally young people or their families contact us directly. Alternatively, a referral can be made by health and social care professionals, including social workers, transition workers and GPs.
If you feel that Treloar’s may be an appropriate placement for your child or young person please contact us at admissions@treloar.org.uk in the first instance. We will then be in contact to have an initial discussion and advise of the next steps. In all cases we will need to review an up-to-date Education, Health and Care Plan and recent educational reports plus any therapy and/or medical reports.
