We are honoured to welcome the Lord Mayor to visit Treloar’s every year. The event reflects the enormous respect and affection in which our Founder, Sir William Purdie Treloar, and the School and College are held across the City of London.
Patron Fiona Adler welcomed our guests describing Treloar’s as ‘a testament to the power of compassion...a shining light for physically disabled children’.
CEO Martin Ingram used his opening speech to explain more about the specialist provision at Treloar’s and to invite guests to ask questions, learn more and gain a better understanding of Treloar’s during their visit.
Highlights of the day were the opportunity to visit classrooms and join in with accessible sports including table cricket, boccia and polybat with Treloar’s students. School student, Chloe was keen to show off her competitive spirit demonstrating her Polybat skills.

The Lord Mayor and the civic party visited the new Bradbury Learning Centre and experienced the immersive learning zone. The Centre has four different learning zones right at the heart of Treloar’s campus to improve access to a variety of learning resources and educational technology for students of all abilities.
During the event Livery Company Masters and Prime Wardens were introduced to Treloar’s latest appeal to renovate our school residential accommodation, Gloucester House, which has just received a tenth consecutive ‘Outstanding’ Ofsted result. However the accommodation that was built in the 1980s needs significant internal restructuring to meet the more complex needs of our students today.
Having supported our charity for many years, the Lord Mayor shared some inspiring words, encouraging all our generous funders to "give generously to help Treloar’s keep up those amazing standards and continue supporting our pupils!"

Everyone at Treloar’s values the incredible philanthropy we receive from the Lord Mayor of the City of London and the Livery Movement, which directly supports our vital work in fostering the independence of our young people. The annual visit is a wonderful opportunity to showcase everything Treloar’s has to offer and allow our students to shine.
