Opening the door to a future without limits
For our students staying in Gloucester House, it's more than a place to live. It's a place for finding friendships, discovering independence and building confidence. It's home. However, outdated spaces are making daily life more complicated than it needs to be and less dignified than our students deserve.
That's why we're launching an ambitious project to transform the ageing Cotswold Wing of Gloucester House into a homely haven with the space, privacy and facilities students need to live their lives to the full.
As students' needs grow, our 40-year-old facilities are struggling to keep up. Bedroom spaces designed decades ago are now cramped with the modern wheelchairs students rely on today, along with the communication aides and feeding devices they depend on.
Moving around is near impossible and overnight care is a squeeze. Essential specialist equipment just doesn't fit. And everyday personal care is more longwinded and less dignified than it should be. Students must be moved from bed to hoist to toilet chair or shower trolley simply to use shared facilities along the corridor.
Despite these challenges, every student receives the outstanding care they deserve and for which Treloar's is known. But it's becoming desperately difficult to give them the comfort and privacy they should expect. And before long, their living space will start holding them back.
This transformation can't wait. But we need your help to make it happen.

With fully equipped bathrooms and specialist fittings, thoughtfully designed bedrooms and bespoke furnishings and adaptations throughout, Cotswold Wing will give every student more space and time for what matters most to them.
