Independent Adult Living

The Treloar’s independent living skills service is for young disabled adults, aged 18-35 years, who have the potential to benefit from receiving longer term independence skills learning / development support in a safe and supportive environment.

We believe that by investing in teaching independence skills we can enable each individual to live a more fulfilled life where they exercise choice, are more independent and ultimately can use their skills and talents to enhance the community.

Our goal is that by the end of the 2-5 year tenancy, all our service users will have learnt the skills that will help them thrive and realise their dreams.

"The independence I have gained while living at Campbell Court is my proudest achievement."

Service

An onsite, skilled, personal assistant (core staff member) will supply 24/7 ad hoc and emergency support (includes overnight sleep in on site); this is a shared support between all tenants (maximum of 7 tenants). This allows the tenant the security of knowing that help is available at all times, at short notice, or that there is someone to help with small tasks. In addition to the core support, Campbell Court can provide domiciliary care if required (or, if preferred, this can be sourced elsewhere by another provider) which can be purchased through Direct Payments.

The Treloar’s core 24/7 service will support the customer to manage their Direct Payment in relation to their agreed care package.

All staff in our team are Treloar’s trained to a very high level in supporting physical disability, have independence living experience to assist customers accessing the community facilities i.e., GP surgery, social activities, education, work, volunteering etc. The staff team is supported professionally by the large and specialised team based on Treloar’s campus.

The service is person-centred and led by the tenant to work towards achieving their own personal short and long term outcomes.

"They have a really good team here at Campbell Court. They will try and push you, advise you to go out and try new things you haven’t tried before. You could be really safe in their hands and we’re a good team here. Come down here and try it yourself. I love it here."
