Treloar’s strengthened its sporting links with HSDC Alton College by hosting College students for a morning focusing on inclusion in sport, looking at both adaptations and different disability sports.

Students from Alton College Sport and PE courses shared a morning with Treloar’s PE Option class, thinking about how to adapt equipment or rules to enable participation and enjoyment in a variety of activities.

All students looked at how basketball rules can be adapted to ensure everyone can participate and enjoy the sport together. Part of the process was showing just how proficient Treloar’s students are in terms of gripping and manipulating sporting equipment while also driving their chairs and the realisation of how easy and enjoyable it can be to work as a Team together.

Students from both settings really enjoyed the day and extended their repertoire of skills to hockey, slalom and table cricket.

We look forward to welcoming Alton College back again soon and also visiting them to share more fun activities.
