“It was a great evening, the location looked amazing and the evening was a great success with lots of achievements and a lot of laughs.
"I felt very proud of my achievement and proud to be part of the Treloar Team.” - Krissie Young, Deputy Team Leader, Gauvain House
On the evening of October 25 2024, Treloar’s held its first Celebration of Success evening in recognition of all the hardwork and dedication made by the staff undertaking their qualifications in care, education and leadership.
The evening was organized and arranged by Treloar’s in-house Diploma Team and presiding over the evenings events was none other than Alton’s Town Crier, Mr. Dave Parsons.
Certificates were presented to Treloar’s staff by CEO Martin Ingram and Independent Governor, Professor Rob Darracott. Staff were recognised for qualification achievements in Adult Care, Supporting Teaching and Learning, Management and specialist teaching qualifications, to name a few.
Treloar’s Independent Governor, Professor Rob Darracott said:
“I was delighted to be asked to take part in this celebration of personal achievement. It’s great to see so many team members developing their skills and expertise by attaining higher awards, contributing not just to their own personal development but adding to the care and support they give our students and young people. Well done to the Diploma Team for recognising the importance of marking new qualifications by creating what I hope becomes a regular event and thank you to everyone who had a hand in putting together such a successful and fun evening.”
Kristy and the Catering Team put on a wonderful spread and to finish off the evening there was a Disco by Limelight, Let’s Toast supplied the bar and the evening’s hilarity with the hired photo booth.
The Diploma Team thanked all of those involved in making the evening such a success, including all those mentioned above and all the other facilities and tech support staff who helped make the event a success.
The real stars of the show were our staff who have worked so hard to complete qualifications alongside their regular work and family commitments. Karen Florence, Employability Coordinator. shared her story:
“I began my journey at Treloar's 4 years ago as a catering assistant and, with excellent support from my managers and outstanding training, I transitioned through various roles within residential houses and college. Despite having a university degree, Treloar's provided me with additional care and teaching qualifications, as well as my English Functional Skills. Today, I hold the position I've always aspired to as an Employability Coordinator where I can coach staff and students through work skills and promote their independence, which is what I am passionate about. I am extremely grateful for all the opportunities I've been given at Treloar's and look forward to whatever the future holds.”
Sam Smith, Deputy Manager Day Provision at Gloucester House said:
“The celebration event was a great way to recognise staff achievements in a small and intimate setting. Lots of effort went into decorating the room and it didn’t disappoint. The Catering Team put on some delicious food which went down very well!
"Completing my qualification is a huge relief having dedicated many hours both at work and home studying and essay writing, I learnt a great deal which has supported me to better understand the work I do.”
Zizan Rozman, Team Leader at Evans House said:
“It was lovely to be celebrated. Completing level 3 was not easy when things get very busy. However, I am more than grateful for being able to finish it as for me personally, who would want to refuse a free education whilst gaining knowledge and qualifications?! I would definitely keep going to achieve more qualifications for my future development if I have the opportunity.”
We are very proud of the training and development opportunities on offer at Treloar’s, and delighted to celebrate and share the success of our staff, who have achieved qualifications to support their growth and career progression.
