On the first day back after half term, students had a great opportunity to meet and talk to staff from different departments during Treloar's Job Shop that took place for the first time. Attending the job shop allowed students to learn more about internal work experience positions that are available to them.
Karen Florence, Employability Coordinator at Treloar's said:
"Treloar’s Job Shop is dedicated to providing students with a comprehensive understanding of the internal roles within the organisation and the numerous benefits these positions offer. By offering job opportunities in departments such as Marketing, Fundraising, HR, and the Health Centre, the Job Shop provides realistic and informed career choices, enabling students to engage with various departments within Treloar’s.
"Work experience is vital for a young person’s development, facilitating their transition from college to the workplace and adult life. Through real-world experience, students can develop essential independence and work skills, increase their awareness of different professions, build their confidence, and help them to make informed decisions about their future.
"Additionally, the collaboration among these departments also highlights the supportive work environment at Treloar’s, offering the potential for some students to progress into external work placements and the chance to make a meaningful impact on the lives of young disabled individuals."
