Tutors Hazel and Isabel escorted Treloar’s student team on the visit and were hugely impressed by the students’ enthusiasm, maturity and presentation skills on the day.
After the talk, each student invited the primary children to come and see their wheelchair or equipment; there was even time to teach the children some British Sign Language! The children were impressed with a communication aid and also fascinated with a power wheelchair – there were a lot of ‘How fast does it go?!’ questions.
The ‘Fab Four’ were trial blazers for this visit, and we plan to offer the opportunity to another 4 students on our next visit – there are a lot of primary schools to get round!
