Life beyond Treloar’s: former students give a talk

We are always pleased to hear news from former students and delighted when they find time to come back to talk to our current students about what they have been up.

Our Transition Team, invited former students Adam, Tilly and Jonah to take our students through their own transition journeys.

Adam, Tilly and Johah spoke about how to prepare for the day they leave Treloar’s. Adam said that Treloar’s had given him ‘the life he has now’: he is a published author as well as a DJ and disability awareness speaker. Tilly who loves the theatre, got herself an agent having left Treloar’s and appeared in the BBC comedy series ‘Don’t Forget the Driver’. She has gone onto live on the Isle of Wight working for Children’s Services. Jonah, upon leaving Treloar’s was moved into residential accommodation. With grit and a lot of determination, he fought hard to live independently. Now, living in his own flat, he has admitted it is not easy but he loves it.
