Creative KS3 curriculum at Treloar’s
The topic for Key Stage 3 (KS3) this term is ‘Mythical creatures‘. The classes will be building on the knowledge gained from their previous topic ‘Around the world in 80 days’ by exploring a range of creatures (such as Loch Ness monster, mermaids, dragons, yeti and griffins) that relate to the countries that had been investigated last term. KS3 students will now be exploring similarities and differences between the creatures and focus on the key features in humanities.
For their topic launch, KS3 classes had a range of stations created by the students and staff to introduce students to a number of creatures to get them excited about what they will be learning about in the spring term. The students demonstrated high levels of engagement and created their own competition using Dough to create their own interpretation of the Loch Ness monster. We have such creative students in KS3!
Each class will be challenged to use the knowledge they will gain to create their own feature of a creature to collaboratively create KS3 mystery creature so watch this space!
