Educational Psychology
Educational Psychologists (EPs) provide a wide range of advice and consultancy to support the education of children and young people with additional needs. They use their training in Psychology and knowledge of child development to explore any difficulties with learning which can include a range of physical, cognitive, emotional and social issues.
At Treloar’s, our EP works alongside other professionals to help students achieve their full potential. This may include consultation, observations, assessment and attendance at Multi-Disciplinary Team meetings. The role also includes delivering training and supporting the staff who are working directly with the student. EP involvement is initiated by staff contacting parents to gain consent before working with a student. The EP may observe the student in a range of different situations and may also work with them on a one-to-one basis.
